COLOURLOCK Leather Fresh Dye

COLOURLOCK Leather Fresh dye revitalises the leather's original colour in the event of scratches, abrasions or slight fading (commonly found in car seat side bolsters and furniture seats). The colour can be prepared according to our colour chart or a leather sample.

Leather Fresh is a flexible, water-based leather colour designed specifically for pigmented (top-coated) leather. It restores the original appearance of worn areas while maintaining the leather's natural softness and breathability.

For best results and optimal adhesion of the colour, we always recommend degreasing the leather before recolouring using COLOURLOCK Degreaser. This step removes body oils, silicone residues and contaminants that may otherwise prevent the colour from bonding properly to the leather surface.

Ideal for repairing scratches, abrasions or slight fading on leather sofas or leather car seats. 

Firstly, clean the leather thoroughly before refreshing the colour or applying care products. Use COLOURLOCK Mild Leather Cleaner against normal degrees of soiling or COLOURLOCK Strong Leather Cleaner in extreme cases. Cleaning prior to the treatment prevents dirt sticking to the leather's surface when applying colour or care products. Our COLOURLOCK Leather Cleaning Brush effectively removes ingrained dirt. After cleaning or, in the case of recently treated or oily leather, you should de-grease it in advance using COLOURLOCK Degreaser, also available in our shop.

For surface care and long-term protection after recolouring, we recommend applying COLOURLOCK Leather Shield. Leather Shield forms a protective barrier on frequently used areas such as seat bolsters, armrests and centre consoles. It reduces friction wear and prevents dye transfer from clothing (such as jeans) from penetrating the leather surface.

For ongoing leather care, we also recommend our COLOURLOCK Leather Milk Protector. It contains antioxidants, which slow down the leather’s natural ageing process, while its UV filters help protect leather surfaces from fading due to sunlight exposure. The leather also regains its suppleness.

COLOURLOCK Leather Fresh (Leather dye)

After pre-cleaning with COLOURLOCK Mild or Strong Leather Cleaner (which has a slight de-greasing property) - degrease the leather with COLOURLOCK Degreaser as an essential prep measure.

Apply the colour when the cleaner has dried, usually after 1 to 3 hours (or instantly with a hairdryer).

Use a sponge to apply the colour evenly, working from seam to seam. Dry afterwards with a hair dryer. On small spots, a simple application is sufficient. Only treat surfaces where the colour has changed. If high opacity is desired, apply the colour in several layers and dry between layers with a hair dryer.
