COLOURLOCK Elephant Leather Preserver

COLOURLOCK Elephant Leather Preserver is an intensive leather care and preservation treatment designed to nourish, protect and waterproof smooth leather, while helping maintain its softness and flexibility. Its rich, solid consistency makes it particularly well suited to older, heavily used and weather-exposed leather where a more substantial protective treatment is required.

The Preserver is made from 100% synthetic fat and is acid-free, odour-neutral and free from vegetable and animal fats. The formulation has a long history of use in leather conservation, including the preservation of old and hardened leather by museums.

Once applied, the Preserver replenishes the leather surface while leaving a protective, water-repellent layer. It helps protect against moisture, mould, fading and further drying, making it particularly useful for leather exposed to demanding environmental conditions.

It is especially suitable for classic car interiors, Chesterfield furniture, saddlery, glossy leather handbags, shoes, boots and other smooth leather goods. It is also an excellent choice for genuine waxed, oiled and pull-up leather, where it can replenish the characteristic waxy/oily surface and enhance the natural patina.

For extremely dry or antique leather, Elephant Leather Preserver can be used as part of a more intensive preservation treatment. The solid product can also be gently warmed to soften its consistency, making it easier to spread and allowing a very thin, even application.

Apply sparingly—a small amount is generally sufficient. The objective is to leave a thin, even treatment rather than a heavy layer of grease.

The practical difference

Elephant Leather Preserver (Solid) is the better choice when you want a richer surface treatment with stronger waxy protection and water repellence—particularly for pull-up leather, classic interiors, antique leather and leather exposed to the elements.

Elephant Leather Oil (Liquid) is the better choice when the priority is easy penetration and distribution into dry leather, especially across larger areas or when the leather has been neglected for an extended period.

For particularly old and hardened leather, however, neither should be confused with COLOURLOCK Leather Softener Oil, which is specifically formulated as the intensive treatment for penetrating and softening hardened leather.
