COLOURLOCK Suede & Nubuck Cleaning & Protecting Kit
Nubuck and suede are open-pored leathers that have been lightly sanded to create their characteristic soft, velvety surface. While attractive and pleasant to the touch, they are particularly sensitive to dirt, moisture, oils and staining. With regular use, the surface can also become flattened, glossy or greasy, while prolonged exposure to sunlight may cause fading.
For new nubuck and suede, we recommend applying COLOURLOCK Waterproofing for Nubuck, Suede & Textiles to help protect the surface against moisture and staining. Apply the Waterproofing to clean, completely dry leather and reapply periodically, particularly after cleaning or on frequently used areas.
Nubuck or suede that has become lightly soiled, glossy or greasy can be cleaned using the COLOURLOCK Suede Kit. The included COLOURLOCK Leather Sanding Pad and Nubuck Eraser help remove surface contamination and restore the raised, velvety nap. Wet cleaning should generally be avoided, as excessive moisture can leave tide marks or alter the appearance of the leather.
Where removable leather covers require more thorough cleaning, they may be washed using LEDER FEIN Leather & Fur Wash Concentrate, either by hand or in a washing machine where appropriate. Once completely dry, we recommend applying Waterproofing again.
For slightly greasy areas that cannot be improved with the Leather Sanding Pad, lightly dampen a clean cloth with COLOURLOCK Degreaser and carefully treat the affected area using minimal pressure. Avoid over-wetting or aggressive rubbing, and allow the leather to dry fully between applications.
Fresh oil or grease stains, as well as heavily contaminated areas, should be treated with COLOURLOCK Grease Absorber Spray.
The colour of darker nubuck or suede that has only experienced moderate fading can be refreshed using COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh. Because these leathers are highly absorbent, larger surfaces such as a complete furniture suite may require a substantial amount of product.
Nubuck and suede are delicate materials, and significant staining, fading or wear cannot always be completely reversed. The recommended products can help improve the appearance and maintain the surface at home; however, heavily faded, stained or damaged leather may require professional restoration.

I’ve used Colourlock repair dyes to breathe new life into the tired leather of a couple of Boxster interiors, and the results have been better than I hoped for both times. Much cheaper than a re-upholster, and achieves a very similar effect for a fraction of the cost. Highly recommended
Very happy customer. Difficult colour matched perfectly with great results, very helpful service, great product and communication. Thank you.
The guys provided top service, and I really appreciate the time they took to run me through the aftercare process and show me the kind of products I should be using in the future. Love your work, guys!
