Important: Test all products on an inconspicuous area first to rule out any potential adverse reactions.

1. Clean the convertible roof

Pour 100 ml of Pol Star into the empty, clear spray bottle, fill it completely with warm water and screw on the spray nozzle.

Spray the dry or slightly damp convertible top evenly in a location away from sunlight and work the cleaner in evenly with the brush

Let it soak in for 5–10 minutes (do not allow it to dry)

2. Rinse thoroughly

Rinse the entire roof carefully to remove all traces of cleaner.

It is important that no cleaner residue remains, as this can reduce the effectiveness of the final waterproofing treatment.

To check, rub the rinsed roof lightly. If any foam appears, rinse again until no foam is produced.

Allow the roof to dry completely before colouring.

3. Mask surrounding areas

Thoroughly mask around the convertible roof before applying the colour.

A suitable automotive masking tape is recommended, as it provides better resistance and is less likely to leave adhesive residue.

4. Prepare the Nubuck Fresh

Shake COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh thoroughly before use.

Mix the Soft Top Fresh with 2% COLOURLOCK Crosslinker.

For example:

300 ml Soft Top Fresh + 6 ml Crosslinker

The Crosslinker improves the durability and water resistance of the colour treatment.

Only prepare the amount you intend to use.

5. Apply the colour

Divide the roof into manageable sections and apply the mixed COLOURLOCK NubuckFresh evenly using the supplied Cleaning Sponge.

Work the product thoroughly into the fabric to ensure consistent coverage.

For the most even and opaque result, apply the product systematically across each section and avoid leaving untreated areas.

For a large convertible roof requiring two coats, COLOURLOCK recommends approximately 1 litre of Nubuck Fresh. Applying insufficient product may result in an uneven or patchy appearance.

Allow the roof to dry thoroughly after colouring before the next step.

6. Apply the Sealant

Ensure the surface temperature is between 10°C and 40°C. Cover or mask off any areas not to be sealed, if necessary.

Spray the Allround Textile Sealant liberally onto the Allround Microfiber Sponge. Apply it evenly and thinly to the entire convertible top. Ensure all areas are completely coated and well worked in.

Allow the convertible top to dry for at least 24 hours (no rain or moisture during this time).
