COLOURLOCK Top Coat

COLOURLOCK Top Coat is a professional, transparent finishing coating designed to seal and protect recoloured leather, vinyl and compatible plastic surfaces. Applied as the final stage of the COLOURLOCK professional recolouring system, it creates a durable protective layer that helps protect the underlying colour against friction, abrasion, moisture, dirt and everyday wear.

During professional leather restoration, colourants are applied to restore the original appearance of faded, worn or damaged surfaces. However, the colour layer requires a protective finish to achieve the durability expected from automotive upholstery, furniture and other frequently used surfaces. COLOURLOCK Top Coat forms this essential final protective layer, helping preserve the restored colour and improve resistance to everyday use.

Top Coat is available in several finishes, allowing technicians to reproduce the original appearance and gloss level of different leather and synthetic surfaces. Matt and Gloss versions can be mixed in different proportions to achieve the desired sheen, while High Gloss is available for surfaces requiring a more reflective finish.

The Vehicle, Furniture & Vinyl version provides a convenient, premixed satin finish for professionals who prefer a standard gloss level without manually blending Matt and Gloss Top Coats. The different Top Coat finishes can also be combined where necessary to achieve a more precise match to the original surface.

For optimum durability, COLOURLOCK Top Coat must be mixed with COLOURLOCK Crosslinker CD before application. Crosslinker strengthens the finishing system, improving the stability and resistance of the protective coating. This is particularly important for high-contact surfaces exposed to regular friction and mechanical wear.

In specialised applications involving very soft aniline leather, a minimal amount of Top Coat without Crosslinker may occasionally be used to preserve the leather's natural softness and surface feel. However, this is an exception intended for experienced technicians and is not recommended for standard leather recolouring work.

Manufactured in Germany, COLOURLOCK Top Coat is designed for professional spray-gun application and is suitable for experienced leather restoration specialists, automotive repair technicians and upholstery professionals.

Important: COLOURLOCK Top Coat is a professional finishing product and must be applied using suitable spray equipment. For standard recolouring applications, it must be mixed with COLOURLOCK Crosslinker CD according to the appropriate mixing instructions. Top Coat is not a standalone leather colourant, conditioner or general-purpose wipe-on protector.
