Alcantara and other modern textiles are soft, breathable materials that offer a premium feel—but they are also more sensitive to everyday dirt, oils and staining. Regular maintenance helps preserve their appearance, prevents matting, and keeps upholstery looking fresh without damaging the delicate fibres.

This kit provides a complete cleaning and protection system tailored for Alcantara and fabric interiors. It lifts embedded dirt and marks safely, restores a uniform finish, and adds a protective layer that helps repel spills and slow re-soiling. All essential tools are included for a thorough yet gentle treatment.

Fabrics like Alcantara and Amaretta are ultra-microfibre materials (synthetic materials) which have a suede-like surface. They should be vacuumed at regular intervals and occasionally wiped with a damp cloth.

Cleaning big surfaces: Moisten the stained surface slightly with COLOURLOCK Alcantara and Textile Cleaner and then wipe gently with a terry cloth. Repeat if necessary.

Removing stains: Wet a sponge or use COLOURLOCK Leather Cleaning brush with some cleaner. Press the foam out of the sponge. Clean the stained area in a circular motion. Then wipe with a damp cloth. Don`t rub too hard or make it too wet. With really stubborn stains you may have to stop before you damage the material and consult a professional upholstery cleaner. Fresh stains should be soaked up immediately with an absorbent, clean cloth. Either dab or work from outside the stain to the centre. Do not rub too hard. With larger stains, work from seam to seam. For greasy and waxy stains use COLOURLOCK Leather Cleaning Spirit. Work carefully’. Test on a hidden area first. To avoid future soiling and staining, protect the surface with COLOURLOCK Waterproofing for Leather and Textiles. Heat should be kept away from Alcantara. For example, cigarette burns cause irreparable damage. Alcantara is prone to pilling. Abrasion causes the fibres to develop into small spherical nodules. If the surface is not too damaged, it can be restored with the COLOURLOCK Sanding Pad. Where the material is seriously damaged, it has to be replaced. Please note: it is not possible to remove stains that have penetrated the surface of alcantara and other fabrics. It is therefore essential to deal with stains quickly and efficiently.
