Pressure marks in leather

Leather sometimes gets pressure marks or creases. Pressure marks happen when leather is wrongly stored or a heavy and/or sharp object has been putting pressure on the leather for some time. Also the sitting area of furniture or car seats can get creases and deformations as the surface gets stretched. Improperly stored leather clothing can become wrinkled.

How to soften old leather of car seats

Shrinkage of leather is an irreversible deformation of the leather fibre. There is no magic product or trick that increases the surface again. The hardening can be reduced a little bit, but a surface extension is impossible. Especially for difficult to remove dashboards it’s an expensive damage. But even shrunken leather should still be treated with COLOURLOCK Leather Softener to protect the leather from degradation and to make it more resistant.

Stains on natural leather

Penetrated stains on aniline (open pore smooth leather) and suede or nubuck are not easy to remove. With water-based cleaner, the leather gets wet and in most cases the stains stay visible. There is no easy way to remove such stains.

After a lot of tests we achieved good results with LEDER FEIN Leather Fixative. Whilst the product is designed to fix soluble dye as pre-treatment for washing garments to prevent colour bleeding, we also found it to be extremely effective in removing water marks on aniline.

Leather Shoe Cleaner

Suede and nubuck leather are sensitive and change with time. This is the natural characteristic of this type of leather. Particularly in lighter coloured leathers you can immediately see stains, dust or abrasion. Therefore, such leather has to be impregnated. Despite all the protection it is best not to use these type of leathers during wet weather. Remove heavy soiling with LEDER FEIN Leather Shoe Washing Agent. Mix Washing Agent 1:1 with water and brush off the dirt. Clean the complete surface of both shoes. Rinsing the cleaning residues is not necessary. The cleaner contains oils to keep the leather soft. Leave to dry in shoe trees. The detergent also acts as a disinfectant, pH-regulating and odour-reducing. Brush the leather in the end.
