Cleaning and maintenance of leather belts

Belts are usually made of thick, durable cowhide and are rarely cleaned or maintained. But they might become dirty and valuable belts last longer with a conservative treatment.

Soil on pigmented leather (make a water rubbing test - a wiped on drop of water doesn`t sink into the leather) can easily be cleaned with COLOURLOCK Mild Leather Cleaner. In case of irremovable stains, please contact us and send us photos of the problem.

To maintain valuable leather we recommend a care treatment with COLOURLOCK Elephant Leather Preserver. First wipe the COLOURLOCK Elephant Leather Preserver in a soft cloth and then treat the leather sparingly.

We offer the recommended products in a set of 30 ml COLOURLOCK Mild Leather Cleaner and 15 ml COLOURLOCK Elephant Leather Preserver, which is sufficient for a belt.

Sometimes leather belts cause discolouration because of unfixed dyes in leather. Such leather should be wiped several times with LEDER FEIN Leather Fixative. Protect the smooth side of the leather several times with COLOURLOCK Leather Shield. Use a hair dryer to dry each application. But strong-marking belts are thereby not retrievable. These should be claimed.
